The Caravan Club takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously. The Caravan Club has won awards for regenerating despoiled and neglected areas of the countryside. Its sites provide important wildlife habitats and some contain Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).New since 2006 is The Caravan Club’s biodiversity programme – as part of The Club’s ongoing commitment to enhance the natural environment on and around Club Sites, a programme of initiatives is to be implemented on a selection of sites so that visitors and Wardens get more out of the nature that surrounds them. Initiatives include Wardens adopting new practices such as leaving areas of unmown grass in order to encourage insects, wild flowers and grasses to flourish, a large map on a central notice board detailing the flora and fauna known to live on Site and checklists for you to use as you complete your own nature trail, ticking off the species you have spotted. You may be encouraged to do your bit to welcome wildlife on to the site, through measures introduced by the Warden. Bird lovers will be pleased to know that The Caravan Club works with the RSPB. A number of Club Sites are within 10 miles of prime RSPB reserves, enabling you to get closer to rare and wild birds. RSPB events and schemes have top of the range optical equipment to make sure you get the perfect view
