LOCAL INFORMATION

Yorkshire

Yorkshire has over 120 miles of magnificent and diverse coastline. The family resorts of Cleethorpes, Bridlington, Hornsea and Withernsea are all great fun to visit; while the historic whaling port of Whitby has the ruins of Whitby Abbey to explore.

The fabulous resort of Scarborough is full of attractions to visit, including the Sea Life Centre. Nearby is the unspoilt alternative destination of Filey, with a slower pace and one of the country’s finest sandy bays.

The Yorkshire Dales are well known for their beauty, and no small part of this is due to the abundance of gorgeous dry stone walls, marking ancient field boundaries. With destinations like Wensleydale, Masham, Skipton in Airedale there is plenty to keep you busy.

Kirkby Lonsdale is a great place base your break; especially for riverside and country walks in the fertile Lune Valley between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks. On the edge of the Dales the fascinating spa town of Harrogate is well worth a visit.
